About Us

The Commitment House is a drug and alcohol treatment center specializing in substance abuse, alcoholism, dual-diagnosis and addiction recovery. We believe that one of the most vital functions of our treatment program is the care planning; it is the individual’s road map to recovery. Our Mission is to provide a person-centered program that instills the tools to maintain long-term sobriety by changing the way people live and think. Where Treatment Meets Recovery We accept Self-Pay, Tricare (East Region Only), Aetna Better Health KY, Aetna Commercial, Anthem Commercial, Anthem Medicaid, Cigna Commercial, Humana Commercial, Humana Medicaid, Kentucky Medicaid, Passport Molina, United Healthcare Community Plan, and WellCare. We have locations in Elizabethtown/Lexington, KY and Clarksville, IN. Program Details: Holistic, Person-Centered Treatment Our clients are adults with poly-substance abuse disorder who may also have chronic or urgent medical and mental health disorders. We strive to provide, non-judgmental, non-biased, trauma-informed care for our clients. Detox with Residential Treatment We provide medical withdrawal management and comfort medications for detoxification. Residential Treatment lasts 28-30 days and provides a time to heal, learn about addiction and gain the tools to maintain long-term sobriety. Residential Transitional After residential treatment, clients step down to the transitional level of care. This step continues to provide 24-hour support and allows clients to re-integrate into society through participation in 12-step meetings. Clients attend clinical group sessions 5 days a week and receive peer support and case management services. The Residential Transitional phase is approximately four weeks. Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) After completing a residential transitional level of care, clients may step down to the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). In PHP, clients reside in a sober living environment with 24-hour supervision and attend groups five days a week, for five hours a day. 12-step work, peer support, and case management services continue during PHP which is approximately 4-6 weeks. Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) After completion of PHP, clients may step down to the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). In IOP, clients reside in a sober living environment with 24-hour supervision and attend groups three hours per day, three days per week, for eight weeks. During this phase, clients continue to receive case management and peer support services with access to an individual therapist. Outpatient Program (OP) After completion of the IOP, clients may transition to the Outpatient Program (OP) phase. During this step, clients continue to attend clinical groups once a week for 3 hours and reside in sober living with 24-hour support and supervision. Clients continue peer support and case management services. The focus of this phase is to establish a final discharge plan and work towards independent, self-sufficient living.
