Somerset Academy Texas is a premier, tuition-free public charter school district serving San Antonio with four campuses. Part of the nationally acclaimed Somerset Network, we educate students from PreK through 12th grade with specialized programs in:

Our offerings include early college high school programming, competitive sports teams, and intramural activities. Applications open each November for the upcoming school year.

Founded in 1997 by Fernando Zulueta, Somerset Academy began as a small two-room schoolhouse in Miramar, Florida, serving just 50 Kindergarten through 5th-grade students. Despite humble beginnings, the school quickly earned recognition for academic excellence—achieving the highest Stanford Achievement Test mathematics scores in Florida’s second year of operation.

Over the past two decades, Somerset Academy has grown to serve more than 41,000 students across 75 schools in Florida, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, and the Canary Islands. Our network’s commitment to quality education earned us the first-ever Corporate accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools/AdvancED (now Cognia) in 2009.
