Operation Child Care

My name is Kayla Corbitt and I have been a Military Family advocate for over a decade. I am passionate about Military Spouse unemployment and fair access to quality, affordable child care. I created Operation Child Care to bridge the gap between impossibly long on-base waitlists and even more difficult off-base waitlists. I believe and the data supports, that most of the issues that Military Families encounter, when it comes to quality of life, are at their core child care issues. The lack of equitable access to child care creates a trickle-down effect on Military Families, impacting everything from healthy relationships to food security. At Operation Child Care, we offer free knowledge so that families know which subsidies they qualify for and how to access them. They are met with realistic timelines and back up plans. If there aren’t any subsidized options available, we match them up via our nanny referral program which contracts exclusively with DOD-affiliated personnel. Operation Child Care is the first of its kind, user friendly platform to search all Military Child Care options. With a beta program launching in November 2022 in the Norfolk/Hampton Roads area, Military Families will be able to enter two pieces of information, branch and location, and receive all of their results in seconds. If no options are currently available, families will be offered the opportunity to move through our application process to receive care from a DOD-Affiliated Nanny who has been background checked, interviewed, and reference checked by Operation Child Care. While these Nannies are not employees of Operation Child Care, they have been rigorously vetted prior to being added to our database.
