Dakotaland Autoglass, Inc. is one of the largest distributors of Automotive Replacement Glass, Paint, Equipment and related supplies in the Midwest, with 16 locations serving 6 states along with being a leader in Autoglass Repair and Replacement with 10 locations serving 5 states.   Daryl Anderson, founder and CEO, returning from the Air Force purchased his father’s body shop (Don’s Body Shop) in Lake Norden, South Dakota in the mid 1970’s. Daryl and wife Margo, worked all hours of everyday to make the business succeed and eventually evolved the collision repair business into the wholesale distribution business it is today. In the late 1970’s Daryl along with some help from the local banker, financed his first truckload of automotive windshields and began to hustle them one part at a time to anyone he could sell them to. He was the salesman, warehouse and delivery person that built his business on one simple philosophy, perfection through customer service.   Daryl continued to sell windshields and was slowly adding other product lines as the company grew. In the mid to late 1980’s Dakotaland began a small expansion phase where added several new locations through acquisitions and start up projects. In 1988 Daryl opened up in Sioux Falls, SD entering his largest market to date. Once again in the mid to late 1990’s Daryl began a second expansion phase which included locations in Denver, CO and Minneapolis, MN. With the addition of these two large markets the Sioux Falls location soon developed into a Distribution Center which was centrally located to supply all locations. In 1997 Daryl began designing a DC in Sioux Falls and built the current 68,000 square foot warehouse that supplies all 16 locations on a weekly basis and in May of 1998 it was opened for business. Jon Anderson, son of Daryl and Margo, came on board in November 1997 and was promoted to Vice President in 2005. Daryl is still currently the Chief Executive Office and is very active in the company.   In 2004 the company converted to PPG refinish products and in 2006 the company became a single-line Platinum Distributor.
